materials needed:

G6 hook

Redheart super saver yarn in yellow, black and red

felt in peach and black

polyester fiber-fill stuffing

fat plastic tapestry needle

stitch marker

scissors

sewing thread in peach and black

sewing needle

 

stitches/techniques you will need to know:

ch-chain

sc-single crochet

inc-increase

magic ring-one of the basic ways of beginning crochet in the round though you could use any method other than this.

slst-slip stitch

HDC-half double crochet

 

 

MICKEY

note: every piece of mickey mouse and Minnie mouse is worked flat accept their ears

BODY | make 2

  fasten off

note: to put the body together: use a tapestry needle and a scrap of yarn to sew the two sides of the body together, but about an inch before you finish sewing it up, stuff the body. then you can finish sewing it up. to make the face: cut a piece of peach felt that looks kind of like a heart with a flat bottom instead of a point. the eyes and nose are all ovals cot out of black felt. you should sew the eyes and nose in place on the peach piece of felt first. and then sew the peach piece of felt into place on mickey’s body. (when making Minnie  the only difference would be that you would embroider two eyelashes on the corner of the eyes)

note: to attach the ears to the body, use a tapestry needle and a scrap of black yarn to sew the ears in an upright position to the top of the head on the seam that runs along the sides.

note: to attach the tail to the body, use a tapestry needle and a scrap of black yarn to sew the tail to the back side of the body in the red part.

note: (you should wait until you have made all of the pieces of the arms before sewing any of them together or to the body) to create the arms, take two sides of an arm and place them together. then using a tapestry needle and a scrap of black yarn, sew the two pieces together. next, you can sew the arm to the body.  sew them to the body on the seam along the sides and about right above the red part.

LEGS | make 4

note: (you should wait until you have made all of the pieces of the legs before sewing any of them together or to the body) to create the legs, take two sides of a leg and place them together. then using a tapestry needle and a scrap of yarn, sew the two pieces together. next, you can sew the leg to the body.  sew them to the body on the seam along the bottom.

MINNIE

note: all of Minnie’s body parts are made the same as mickey’s which include the body, the tail, the ears, the arms and the legs

  fasten off

note: (you should make all of her other components and put them together before putting together Minnie’s skirt) to make the skirt, place the two sides of the skirt together. then using a tapestry needle and a scrap of red yarn, sew up the sides. but only sew up the slanted sides!!!  then you can slip the skirt up over her legs and onto Minnie’s body. line up the edge of the skirt with the end of the red on her body. you can then take another scrap of red yarn and sew the skirt to the body. but only along the top where the red meets black.
