materials needed:

size g6 hook

fat plastic tapestry needle

orange worsted weight yarn

scraps of black and white felt

ployester fiber fill

stitch marker

 

stitches you need to know:

sc-single crochet

magic ring- one of the ways to begin crochet in the round, you could use any method though.

ch-chain

HDC- half double crochet

inc-  increase

dec- decrease

 

body

orange yarn

the body is worked in the round not in joined rows

you should use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each row

row1  sc6 in magic ring    6 (if using another method to begin crochet in the round, just make sure there are six stitches in your row at the end)

row2  inc1 in each st in the row    12

row3  [sc1 in the first st, inc1 in the next st] repeat 6 times    18

row4  [sc1 in each of the next 2 st, inc1 in the next st] repeat 6 times    24

row5-16  sc1 in each st in the row    24

fasten off

note: to finish the body, stuff the body untill it is as full as you like, then use a tapestry needle and a scrap of orange yarn to sew a flat seam between the stitches in the last row of your piece

 

arms make two

orange yarn

the arms are worked flat

ch10 flip    10

starting in 3rd ch from hook, HDC1 in each ch across    8

fasten off

note: to attatch the arms to the body, use the tapestry needle and a scrap of orange yarn to sew the arms to the sides of the body

 

legs make 2

orange yarn

the legs are worked flat

ch12 flip

starting in 3rd ch from hook, HDC1 in each ch across

fasten off

note: to attach the legs to the body, use a tapestry needle and a scrap of orange yarn to sew the legs to the seam on the bottom of the body

 

tail

orange yarn

the tail is worked flat

ch4 flip

starting in 2nd ch from hook, hdc1 in each ch across

fasten off

note: to attach the tail to the body, use a tapestry needle and a scrap of orange yarn to sew it to the seam on the bottom of the body between the legs

 

ears make 2

orange yarn

the ears are worked flat

ch5 flip

starting in 2nd ch from hook, HDC2tog twice, flip

ch1 HDC2tog

fasten of f

note: to attach the ears to the body, use a tapestry needle and a scrap of orange yarn to sew the ears to the side of the body above the arms

 

mouth

orange yarn

the mouth is worked flat

ch8 flip

starting in 3rd ch from hook, HDC1 in each ch across

fasten off

note:the mouth is not curved when it is done being crocheting,  it has to be sewn to the body in a curved way.

 

the eyes are made with the felt. cut to circles out of the black felt, then cut to more circles out of the white felt, but cut them slightly smaller in diameter.

i used hot glue to fasten the eyes together and attach them to the body, though you could use any method

it’s a pig, with wigs!

stitches/techniques you will need to know:

magic ring-one of the basic ways of beginning crochet in the round though you could use any method other than this.

note: this pig is worked in the round, not joined rows.

you should use a st marker to mark the beginning of your row.

note: to add the eyes and nostrils, use a tapestry needle and a scrap of black yarn to embroider them onto the face of the pig.

note: (you should wait until you finish all of the legs before attaching them to the body) to attach the legs to the body, you should first stuff them to your liking, next, position the legs on the underside of the pig wherever you desire, then, using a tapestry needle and a scrap of pink yarn, sew the legs in place.

note:  (you should wait until you finish both of the ears before attaching them to the body) to attach the ears to the body, you should first position them on the head wherever you desire and then using a tapestry needle and a scrap of pink yarn, sew the ears in place.

note: the beehive is separate from the body and does not get attached to it. and you should stuff as you go.
